Teresa Storch
 |
Singer/songwriter Teresa Storch is constantly moving, either on stage or in her Pontiac Vibe. She has been releasing albums and touring nationally since 2003, spreading her funky-soulful folk throughout the country. She's now known as a voice and presence not to be missed, with a passion you feel from the audience and a connection that makes you feel like she's known you forever. She'll draw you in with her rich, engaging voice, rhythmic, percussive guitar and writing that has roots in folk, jazz and blues--pulling stories from real-life and taking snapshots of what matters most.

Well, here we are... the last day. Teresa said lets write about honesty.
"Ok, I'm on it!" was pretty close to what I said. And I dove in this afternoon to see what what was there. Some good stuff I think, and I brought a bunch of it back home to record up. Except the song was kind of ornery when I got home--or I was kind of ornery--and after 31 songs I'm out of patience for ornery. So, I'm posting the lyrics and calling it a day for now. Enjoy!

Deeper Than Your Heart -3/2/10
You were fresh from the war, pieces strewn after the battle
there were enough years, made you unravel
I was alone on the sea, in my sailing ship
discovering new worlds, never willing to come in
You can act out of passion, do what you think is smart
or come from that place deeper than your heart
You told me your tale, it tore me apart
you’ve nothing to offer, honest from the start
I raised up my sails, preparing to head South
when you took my face in your hands and kissed me on the mouth
You can act out of passion, do what you think is smart
or come from that place deeper than your heart
I tended your wounds, found it easy to give
asked you aboard upon my sailing ship
You said “I’ve nothing the offer, as I’ve told you before”
now I am leaving, with you standing on the shore
You can act out of passion, do what you think is smart
or come from that place deeper than your heart

Dinosaurs were smoking up
When the sky was falling down
Jiminy told them to run below
But they said that guys a clown
Sometimes the truth is funny
And sometimes it’s funny cause it’s true
But the truth can’t be believed
There’s nothing you can do
Diogenes was in his house
Saw Honest Abe on his TV
He held his light up to the screen
But glare made it hard to see
He said I don’t honestly believe you
Abe said I honestly don’t care
If the truth is fair and balanced
When is the balance fair?
Confucius when into a club
To see what’s beneath it all
He found folks getting more sincere
As every dollar fell
He said I don’t think that’s the way
They said it’s the way of the world
A good stories better than the truth
And the truth is always blurred
